With obesity levels rising in America and other parts of the world, nobody cares that you have a hard time gaining weight. Everyone will tell you that you should be so lucky.
The media glorifies weight loss. Take one of the most popular prime-time television shows for the last few years: The Biggest Loser. We watch and think, “How could someone let themselves get so big?” Before the show, most of these people faced serious medical conditions related to their obesity, or worse yet, death. An examination confirms their worse nightmares at the beginning of each new season.
And at the end of the season, after all the grueling workouts and strict dieting, we applaud as their before and after pictures are shown. Rightly so, as they have changed their lives and perhaps inspired others to do the same.
But before there was The Biggest Loser, there was Jared Fogle. Just when you think Jared has gone back into his lair deep in the woods of Montana, scarfing down twinkies and Moosetracks while watching reruns of The Golden Girls, boom! There he is again eating another low-fat Subway sub or being spotted at a basketball game.
The fact is, everyone loves the Epic Rise and Fall. Look, I’m not going to get into comparing Odysseus to Jared, but what I want fellow hardgainers to take away is that you are going to have to be very self-motivated to gain weight and muscle. It’s unlikely there will be The Biggest Gainer anytime soon. Your friends and family might not understand why you want to do this, or why you feel insecure.
This is something you have to do for yourself, and most likely, by yourself. But you have a wealth of information availble to you on this website and others.
